Can you take Copper and Iron together?
Copper is not a competitor here — it's a requirement. The enzyme that mobilises iron from storage depends on copper. Deficiency in one can mimic deficiency in the other.

Timing
Together, no conflict.
How it works
Ceruloplasmin, a copper-dependent enzyme, oxidises Fe²⁺ to Fe³⁺, which is necessary for iron binding to transferrin and transport through the bloodstream.
Copper deficiency can cause iron-deficiency anaemia even when iron intake is adequate, because iron cannot be mobilised from stores without ceruloplasmin. At standard supplement doses, co-administration is fine.
What to do
Take together at standard doses. If you have unexplained iron-deficiency anaemia that doesn't respond to iron supplementation, copper status is worth checking.
Frequently asked
Should I separate Copper and Iron?
This is an informational interaction. Copper and Iron are generally fine to take together. Copper is required for iron metabolism
Why do Copper and Iron interact?
Ceruloplasmin, a copper-dependent enzyme, oxidises Fe²⁺ to Fe³⁺, which is necessary for iron binding to transferrin and transport through the bloodstream.
How strong is the evidence for this interaction?
The evidence is strong, supported by multiple published studies and clinical data.
