Can you take Astaxanthin and Omega-3 Fish Oil together?

Astaxanthin is one of nature's strongest lipid-soluble antioxidants. It shields omega-3 fatty acids from the oxidative damage they're highly susceptible to.

Timing

Together with a meal.

How it works

Astaxanthin integrates into cell membranes alongside omega-3 fatty acids, scavenging lipid peroxyl radicals before they can damage EPA and DHA.

Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA/DHA) are highly vulnerable to lipid peroxidation due to their multiple double bonds. Astaxanthin is approximately 6,000 times more potent than Vitamin C in certain antioxidant assays. Some premium fish oil supplements include astaxanthin for this reason.

What to do

Take together with a meal. Both are fat-soluble and benefit from dietary fat. This pairing makes biochemical sense regardless of your health goals.
